Be sure to listen to this week's update on CASE Wednesday!

The fifth week consisted of putting the case together and testing the hardware and software to ensure they have been well connected. The components have been put in their final arrangement, and the software has been improved to ensure voice commands are well understood. With one week remaining until the final presentation, the final touches are being made to ensure CASE works well for the presentation.

The main focus for this week has been to assemble the case together. The final parts have been 3D printed, and now the case is being fully assembled. The laser cut acrylic parts are meshing well with the 3D printed parts. The case will be painted to have a nice matte black finish. It attaches well to the coffee machine with space for all the components that have been used.

The other work that has been done this week has been on the GUI. The menu has been redesigned with a new layout and an updated standby screen. The GUI offers an indication of what type of coffee has been chosen and a settings page. It also allows for integration with choosing what music to play and news to view.

With the project nearing its end, the group has also started preparing reports and presentations. A draft of the summary report has been completed as well as a presentation outline has been made. Also for the presentation, a promotional video is being made to showcase CASE. The final report has also been started, although there are still a couple weeks before the final report is due.

Overall, the final full week of work was a productive one. CASE is close to completion, and preparations for the presentation are going well. The GUI is taking shape, and the final touches and complete integration of hardware and software is taking place. The group has thoroughly enjoyed working in collaboration with IBM on such an interesting and rewarding project.
